Will Front Row be a part of the Lion OS?

I just wanted to know two things: 1. Will Front Row be a part of the new Lion OS?

2. How do you change and off the music in Front Row?

Imac 24", Mac OS X (10.6.4)

"Front Row is not a part of Lion, I previously thought I'm gonna miss that, but realized we have for those reasons Apple TV."

Apple TV connected to a TV can not replace Front Row on a Mac since they are obviously two different viewing devices.

Everyone has media on their Macs but not everyone is near their TV. It is now impossible to have easy access, especially with the remote, to all your media on your Macs.

Apple really screwed up in getting rid of Front Row, not to mention not even having the consideration to let its customers know before upgrading.

@Taxes...

That is not the power of FrontRow.

Buy a Mac Mini. Plug it into your TV. Buy an Elgato TV Tuner, with EyeTV.

Run EyeTV. You now how one of the smartest PVR's on the market.

Now pick up your Apple Remote and click the Menu button (I think that's the button - I do it without looking).

EyeTV goes quiet, and your Mac drops into FrontRow. You now have access to all of your media in your iTunes library, plus your photos. Exit FrontRow and your Mac drops back into EyeTV.

FrontRow provided a TRUE "Apple TV" experience.

You misunderstood my post; please read it again.

I know exactly how Front Row works and I know exactly how Apple TV works. I also have a 2010 mini with hdmi. I know how all that stuff works. What I was saying is that Apple TV is not a replacement for Front Row since they serve similar purposes *but on different devices.*

I love Front Row and I love my Apple TV. My Apple TV is connected to my TV, along with my Mac Mini, but my iMac with the latest software will lose Front Row. I usetiny iMac and Front Row in my bedroom all the time. That's why Apple TV is not a replacement for Front Row since Front Row is a stand alone application meant to be used on the device that it is installed on.

I'm also not interested in PVR add ons. I like Front Row exactly the way it is.

I miss front row as well.😢

We have 2 ATV in different rooms.

With the wife & kids sometimes I get pushed to the computer room to watch a movie ot TV show.

It was great to pick up the remote and sit on the couch and watch a movie.

What other applications are people using now?

ATM I am having to sit at the computer find what I want in itunes then go to fullscreen then walk to the couch....

I know sounds pathetic....

me and my world class problems....lol

Although Front Row is no longer included as an application in Lion, it still exists in SN. The easiest way to retrieve Front Row is to use the Front Row enabler provided ralph@mac-hatter.com. You will find a link to the pkg on that web page. Simple. Kudos to Ralph!

ralph@mac-hatter.com is an email address, not a web page.

You're right. That was for his firm "mac-hatter.com. However, inaccurate posters are not your problem, your rudeness is!

As a 3rd party bystander.... @a jfromcolorado springs if anyone was rude, it was yourself. You posted an e-mail address when you had told people to go to a link. As this forum is made for all levels of users, your post easily confused.

Csound1's post "ralph@mac-hatter.com is an email address, not a web page." wasn't rude in the slightest. It simply pointed out that you had a chance to correct it, and in fact, if clicked, opens an e-mail. YOUR reply in return was probably one of the rudest posts I've read on any of the forums.

OK, you were wrong. No harm done. But just remember these forums are for all levels of users.

I don't mean to argue with you, belittle you, nor start another war of words. However, it seems to me that you had not reviewed the entire thread before you posted your comment. I agree with you that these forums are for all levels of users, and as I mentioned in an earlier post, we are all here to help one another. I hope this will clear the air and let us move on. As Rodney King said: "Can't we all get along?"
